In An Emergency
Communication
Every year we schedule emergency drills with our students. Our hope is that through practice, in the event of an actual emergency - whether it be a fire or an earthquake or a lockdown - our students and staff will know how to respond.
With that being said, it is important to let families know that if and when we experience an emergency situation here at Heritage Intermediate School, the number one priority of our school administrative team is the safety of our students and staff. We will do everything within our power to keep everyone on our campus safe and that is where our focus needs to be. That will be our number one focus and stopping to prematurely share facts may indeed take away from our ability to focus on our number one priority. The administrative team will work with emergency personnel and our district office to communicate information when it is appropriate to do so. In the event of an emergency situation, we respectfully ask for parents and guardians to be patient with us. Our number one focus has to be on the safety of our students and staff.
Student Release
In the event of an emergency situation and the administrative team in connection with emergency personnel and the Etiwanda School District office determine that it is appropriate to release students back into the care of a parent, guardian, or emergency contact, please be aware of the following:
Students will only be released to a parent, guardian, or emergency contact.
Please tune into local radio and media stations for advisory information.
Please do not call the school. We want to keep lines open for emergency calls.
Students will remain under the supervision of school staff until a parent, guardian, or emergency contact can pick up the student(s).
Students will be released from the Student Release Station. The Student Release Station will be located near the flag pole, so long as it is safe to station there. Look for the Student Release Flag that will be flying near the station.
